May 30, 2024 | 4:56 PM

What is slated to be the one-and-only BCHL Rocky Mountain Challenge is set for May 31 to June 2 in Brooks.

The three-game series will feature the BCHL’s Alberta Division winners, the Brooks Bandits, taking on the AJHL Champion Surrey Eagles.

All games will take place at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks, though game two will be played as a home game for Surrey.

Games one and two start at 7 p.m., and game three goes at 5 p.m.

Tickets for the event are now on sale and you can purchase them here.

The two clubs have played each other before, despite the Bandits only recently joining the BCHL.

They met three times in 2013, twice at the Western Canada Cup in Nanaimo, B.C. and once at the national championship tournament in Summerside, P.E.I. Brooks held a 2-1 advantage in those contests.

The Eagles defeated the Penticton Vees in Game 6 of the BCHL Finals on Sunday to capture their fifth Fred Page Cup championship and first since 2013, while the Bandits captured the first-ever Alberta Cup by defeating the Sherwood Park Crusaders in five games of the Alberta final.
