Red Deer Rebels complete trade with Hurricanes on draft day
Red Deer Rebels General Manager, Brent Sutter, announced Thursday that the club has completed a trade with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The Rebels have acquired forward Trae Wilke (’06, Saskatoon) from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a fourth round pick, 84th overall at the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, and a fourth round pick at the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft. The 2024 draft takes places today (May 9).
Wilke collected 25 points in 68 games with the Hurricanes in 2023-24.
It was his first full season with the club after being selected by Lethbridge in round two, 29th overall by Lethbridge at the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
