Over 65 participants from various sectors including law enforcement, victim services, and other support agencies recently assembled in Lacombe for a comprehensive two-day training program focused on combating family violence.

The event, which brought together experts locally and from surrounding areas, aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to better assist domestic violence victims and their families.

Officials say this vital training initiative was made possible through the generous support of Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty and its ongoing commitment to addressing domestic violence through their Shelter fund.

They add that Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty yearly contributions to the Lacombe Victim Services domestic violence fund has played a pivotal role in facilitating such essential educational programs as well as aiding many victims and families of domestic violence locally here in Lacombe.

They note the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, established in 1998, stands as the largest public foundation in Canada solely dedicated to funding women’s shelters and initiatives aimed at preventing domestic violence.

Officials add, the Shelter Foundation has raised $46 million dollars to date, supporting 200 local women’s shelters and national partners across the country.

Through various fundraising efforts such as commission donations, events, sales, and treks, the Foundation says it ensures every dollar raised directly benefits women and children served by shelters and support programs.

As locally owned company, Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty says it commits to supporting the cause through donations generated from every real estate sale. They add that a portion of their commission contributes directly to the Lacombe Victim Services Domestic Violence Fund with total donations reaching a $132,000 to date.

Officials note the success of the recent two-day family violence training underscores the significance of collaborative efforts between community stakeholders and corporate partners like Royal LePage Lifestyles Realty.
