February brings increase in Red Deer home sales

Red Deer home sales increased in February when compared to the month before and year over year.

That’s according to the latest Market Update from Central Alberta Realtors Association which shows 110 units sold in Red Deer last month, up from 90 in January and 104 units sold in February 2023.

Year-to-date numbers show 200 units sold in Red Deer so far in 2024, up slightly from 196 units sold during the first two months of last year.

The average price in Red Deer last month was $340,114, down from $349,216 in January but up from $311,949 in February 2023.

Meantime, the average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer in February was 37, down from 49 days in January and 53 days in February of last year.

For the entire Central Alberta market, there were 355 units sold in February, up from 273 units sold in January and 260 units sold in February 2023.

Year-to-date figures show 628 units sold throughout central Alberta in the first two months of this year, up from 476 units sold to this point last year.

The average sale price in Central Alberta in February was $389,583, down from $410,662 in January but up from $316,695 during the same month last year.

The average number of days to sell a home in Central Alberta last month was 59, down from 60 days in January and 62 days in February 2023.
