CORRECTION: The original version of this story stated that the suspect is known to frequent Buffalo Lake, as stated by Edmonton Police Service; however, as of March 19, EPS has not been able to clarify with certainty whether they mean Buffalo Lake, just north of Red Deer, or Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement in northeast Alberta. We are updating the story to reflect this uncertainty. If they do clarify this aspect, we will update the story.

Edmonton Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a 37-year-old man wanted in relation to an assault that occurred earlier this week.

They note the man, Jordan Belhumeur, is known to frequent Buffalo Lake, as well as bars along 118 Avenue in Edmonton.

Belhumeur is wanted on numerous warrants including assault causing bodily harm, robbery, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and intimidation, in connection to an incident that occurred on Monday, Mar. 11, 2024, EPS says.

He is also wanted on a Canada-wide Apprehension and Suspension warrant for a parole violation.

EPS says Belhumeur is believed to be violent and dangerous, and detectives are releasing his photo in an attempt to locate him.

Investigators believe Belhumeur may be operating a newer model grey Nissan sedan with a Saskatchewan licence plate.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Belhumeur is advised to not approach him and immediately call EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
