Soroptimist Women’s Day event

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is presenting their annual Women’s Day event on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 1-4:30 p.m. at the Blackfalds Community Centre.

Event organizers say this year’s theme is, ‘Inspire Inclusion’.

Central Albertans are invited to attend with their mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, co-workers, BFF’s. Attendees can celebrate International Women’s Day where Soroptimist International of Central Alberta will be presenting the winners of the Live Your Dream awards, the Violet Richardson awards and the Ruby Award – For Women helping Women. Attendees can also enjoy an international fashion show with desserts and refreshments.

Tickets are $20.00 each and available on Eventbrite. Donations of menstrual products will also be collected at the door for the Period Promise campaign.

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is part of a worldwide member organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Education is the key to achieving gender equality. Our club is involved with Central Alberta Purple Light Nights, a domestic violence awareness program, the Period Promise school pilot, partnering with the United Way, to outfit four schools in Red Deer with free period products and dispensers, and The Power of a Girl conference.
