Red Deer building permit values up to start 2024

Building permit values in Red Deer got a boost in January.

There were 67 permits valued at $7.2 million, up from 61 worth $4.8 million in January 2023.

Notable permits include:

• Building permit for construction of office addition and new shop bays at 8133 Edgar Industrial Close, valued at $3.5 million
• Building permit for construction of a new 62-unit residential apartment complex at 5436 47 Street, valued at $1 million
• Building permit for construction of a new single family detached dwelling with attached garage and basement development at 29 Tranter Street, valued at $319,000
• Building permit for tenant improvements to dentist office at 4-6791 50 Avenue, valued at $300,000
• Building permit for second floor tenant improvements at 5120 47 Street, valued at $256,000.
