Former Rebels forward gets AHL call-up
A Grande Prairie-born hockey player and former Red Deer Rebels forward has been called up to the AHL to suit up for the Utica Comets, the affiliate club for the New Jersey Devils.
Twenty-one-year-old Jace Isley, who played all of his junior career with the Rebels, will join the Comets in Laval, Quebec today (Wednesday, January 10) to face off with the Rockets.
So far this season, Isley has been suiting up for the Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL, posting four goals and 11 assists for 15 points through 28 games before being called up.
He was committed to the University of Saskatchewan to play hockey with the Huskies this year, but decided to attend the Devils’ main camp beforehand, in hopes of signing with the organization and playing professional hockey.
