Pair arrested in Olds face stolen property charges

Olds RCMP have charged two people following the recovery of what they is stolen property worth thousands of dollars.

On Dec. 23, Olds RCMP say members responded to a call about shoplifting at a business on 46 Street. While en route, RCMP were updated that one suspect had left in a vehicle, and another remained in the store.

With assistance from Didsbury RCMP, members conducted queries on the vehicle, which showed the licence plate as stolen. RCMP then conducted a roadside stop on the vehicle, and arrested the male driver without incident. The second suspect was located exiting the store and was also arrested.

Search of the suspects vehicle revealed the following property:

  • A large quantity of products determined stolen from multiple businesses totaling approximately $7,000
  • A stolen licence plate
  • Stolen driver licence
  • Multiple folding knives
  • Approximately 10g of suspected Methamphetamine

As a result of the investigation, Brandon Ross Keller, 32, of Vulcan, was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x2)
  • Theft over $5000 – Shoplifting
  • Fail to comply

Paige Ashlee, 19, of Cochrane, was charged with:

  • Theft over $5000 – Shoplifting
  • Possession of a controlled substance

Both accused were released and are set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Disbury on Feb. 26, 2024.
