Rebels beat Canes, improving to 2-3 on young season
With a rocky 1-3 to start the season, the Red Deer Rebels came into their Saturday night matchup against division rival Lethbridge hoping to not fall too much further behind.
They achieved their mission on this night, winning 3-1 over the Hurricanes, improving their record to 2-3 while the Hurricanes move to 4-2.
Scoring summary
The Canes drew first blood in this one when Brayden Edwards (4th) scored at 13:23 of the first period. The goal came at even strength but followed penalty trouble by the Rebels who’d received a double minor for slew-footing and a too many men bench minor in the period already.
