Man arrested in Ponoka with B.B. gun, possibly wearing fatigues and body armour

RCMP say a man wearing fatigues and what appeared to be body armour has been arrested in Ponoka.

It was just before 10 a.m. on Sept. 26 near 48 Avenue and 51 Street when RCMP say a Ponoka member was making patrols and observed a male wearing the aforementioned articles of clothing and gear.

The man also appeared to have a handgun in a holster, RCMP say.

The officer recognized the suspect as having a weapons prohibition order, approached the male with assistance from other members, and the man was safely taken into custody.
