Recent moisture delays harvest progress in central Alberta
Significant moisture events throughout the central Alberta region have delayed recent harvest progress.
According to the latest Crop Report from AFSC and the Government of Alberta, harvest of winter cereals is reported as over 78 per cent complete.
Officials also note that harvest of spring-planted crops has begun with progress mainly reported on pulse and cereal crops.
Total canola swathing and combining is reported at two per cent complete. Second-cut hay is 58 per cent complete on dryland with a yield of 1.3 tons per acre and 75 per cent complete on irrigation with a yield of 1.5 tons per acre.
