Tornado confirmed near Wildwood, west of Edmonton Monday night
Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) have confirmed a tornado touched down near Wildwood, west of Edmonton Monday night.
ECCC says the tornado was observed at approximately 9:30 p.m.. near Wildwood.
The weather agency says it received a call about the tornado but there have been no reports of damage specific to the tornado at this time. Officials say this tornado has not yet been given any rating as further investigation is required.
ECCC says a second tornado, however, may have occurred earlier in the evening. At approximately 6:05 p.m., a funnel cloud was reported near Cynthia, northwest of Drayton Valley, and was associated with a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado.
