Central Alberta organizations and municipalities receive provincial funding for economic projects
Numerous organizations and municipalities in central Alberta will be receiving funding towards economic-related projects, following a provincial announcement on Thursday.
The Alberta government says they will be investing more than $14 million for projects aimed to support economic development and diversification throughout the province.
In 2022, the province created the Northern and Regional Economic Development (NRED) program, providing grants of up to $200,000 to Alberta municipalities, non-profit organizations and Indigenous communities for projects that support regional economic growth and diversification.
The program provides up to 50 per cent of total eligible project costs. Projects led by Indigenous communities will receive up to 75 per cent of total eligible project costs.
