More temperature records broken throughout central Alberta Tuesday

Select communities throughout central Alberta continued to experience some record high temperatures on Tuesday.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Red Deer area set a new record high for June 13 of 30.8 degrees Celsius, beating the old record of 29.4 degrees Celsius set in 1922. Records have been kept in this area since 1904.

In the Lacombe area, a new record high of 31.3 degrees Celsius was set for June 13, surpassing the previous record of 31.1 degrees Celsius set in 1933. Records have been kept in this area since 1907.

In the Sundre area, a new record high of 30.9 degrees Celsius was set for June 13, topping the old record of 26.8 degrees Celsius set in 2010. Records have been kept in this area since 1993.
