They say the trip will involve traveling to view points in the Battle River Hills each day, and a stop at the old homestead of the Bjorge’s Farm to check for Turkey Vultures, and potentially, Brown Thrashers, Great Horned Owls, Mountain Bluebirds, Cliff Swallows, and White-faced Ibis.

Participants can choose to join for one day or the whole weekend. The options include:

  1. Meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday and spend the day on the trip. Attendees are to bring their own lunch and drinks while Judy Boyd is scheduled to be on hand to help identify species. Guests are also advised to bring an item to share for a potluck supper at night. Participants can camp in tents or trailers overnight at the Ferry Point Campground, south of the Battle River bridge, on Range Road 184 for a minimal charge for the campsite.
  2. Attendees can meet at the campground at 10 a.m. on Sunday and bring their own lunch and drinks. Zoey Zapisocki is scheduled to be on hand to identify wildflowers and grazing species.
