Tinder dry conditions out there, RDES says, with local ambulances deployed to Drayton Valley
Red Deer Emergency Services (RDES) is supplying help related to the wildfire near Drayton Valley, and at the same time are urging people to not take for granted the possibility that fires can easily start closer to home.
Matt White, Acting Deputy Chief, confirms three staffed Red Deer-based ambulances were dispatched to assist with the evacuation of the Drayton Valley Hospital.
One made it there and transported a patient out, he says, while the two others were redeployed to Edmonton International Airport to receive patients arriving on medi-vac aircraft from evacuations in northern Alberta.
