Central Sport Launches Inaugural Recognition and Celebration 2023

Nominations are now open and tickets are available for the Central Alberta Sport Authority’s (Central Sport) 2023 Recognition and Celebration – Our Year in Sport 2022.

Central Sport will be recognizing local sport organizations’ athletes, volunteers, and builders along with hearing from some outstanding local talent. Nominations can be made in the following categories: Youth Athlete of the Year, Open Athlete of the Year, Masters/Senior Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, Sport Builder, LSO Volunteer Recognition (Certificates), Volunteer of the Year, Kendall Dunkle Memorial Award – Minor Coach of the Year, and Lifetime Sport Achievement. Nomination deadline is March 31, 2023.

“Central Sport is proud to bring back sport awards to Central Alberta. This celebration is important to recognize all the people who make sport possible in our region,” says Trevor Thomas, CEO of Central Sport. “Central Sport fills an important role advocating for sport in our region, and strives to be the voice for sport and connections for our local sport organizations.”

The awards will be handed out May 10 at the Harvest Centre.
