Jasper in January: ‘Welcome to the Lighter Side of Winter’
“Welcome to the Lighter Side of Winter”, that’s this year’s theme for Jasper in January.
The annual festival features concerts, great food (poutine showdown), dog sledding, special deals on skiing and lodging and much more.
From January 13-29, organizers say the town becomes even more inviting than it usually is. There is said to be something for everyone during the 17 days, but the weekends are when things really heat up, officials point out.
For example, this Saturday Jan. 21 is Mountain Malanka, a Ukrainian New Year’s celebration. The following Saturday, Jan 28, is the Retro Themed Street Party & Fireworks. For all the details go to jasper.travel/January.
