U13A APLS Chiefs make hygiene kits for at-risk youth
The Red Deer Minor Hockey U13A APLS Red Deer Chiefs spent an evening recently bonding while assembling over 50 hygiene kits for local at-risk youth.
With the help of many community organizations like the City of Red Deer, YMCA, John Howard Society, Central Alberta FASD Society, Tom Bast Sports, SPARC Red Deer, McMan Youth, Family & Community Services Association, the RCMP, and along with the APLS Chiefs, were able to gather many hygiene items to contribute to the bags.
(Supplied)City officials say the Red Deer High Risk Youth Coalition has identified an urgent need in the community to assist at-risk youth with basic hygiene supplies. Items donated for the bags aim to support youth with showers, soap and towels, dental health, deodorant and even a card filled out by the hockey players with a message of kindness, hope and inspiration.
