Red Deer & District Community Foundation opens applications for Women & Girls Grant
The Red Deer & District Community Foundation (RDDCF) has announced that grant applications are now open for their Women and Girls Grant.
The grant opportunity is opening to coincide with International Day of the Girl on October 11 which, the foundation says, highlights the importance of girls’ rights and promotes the empowerment of girls in Canada and globally.
“This grant is a way for the Community Foundation to demonstrate our commitment to addressing barriers and challenges faced by women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals living in central Alberta,” said Erin Peden, Executive Director of the RDDCF. “As an organization, we have been looking at our own policies with respect to gender, diversity, and inclusion, and it is in this spirit that we will be looking for projects and agencies to support.”
Officials confirm the Women and Girls Grant will award $5,000 annually to support organizations part of the women’s movement, whose core activities, leadership, mission, and vision are committed to advancing gender equality. The mission of the grant, according to RDDCF, is to fund projects that:
