“In a small community the problems associated with property related crimes are amplified. As part of our Rural Crime Reduction Strategy we encourage members of the public/businesses to report suspicious activity,” police say. “With the assistance of the community we were able to locate a suspect who were observed on video stealing tools and equipment.”

Carl and Springer were arrested together in September 2021 for their alleged involvement in a break-in to an oilfield site near Raven, west of Innisfail.

For that incident, Carl was sentenced to 45 days in jail and assigned probationary restrictions, while Springer did not receive the same sentence but the Crown is still trying to obtain bail money from him, Justice says.
