Alberta aiming to advance North American energy security in New York
Provincial government officials say Energy Minister Sonya Savage will travel to New York City this week to promote Alberta’s role in a secure and sustainable energy future.
Minister Savage will participate in the ATB Capital Markets Fall Energy Conference in New York Sept. 19-20. The minister is expected to participate on a panel with U.S. state officials and North American industry leaders, and meet with key stakeholders to promote Alberta’s energy reserves amid ongoing challenges with energy security and the energy transition.
“Alberta is the solution to North American energy security,” said Sonya Savage, Minister of Energy, in a press release Sunday. “To continue advancing our role as a responsible energy producer, cooperation with our international partners is vital. We must work together to establish a united front on energy security and affordability.”
“This includes increasing Alberta’s exports to the United States and the world,” continued Savage. “By leading and shaping these important discussions with our global partners and industry leaders, we position ourselves as part of the long-term solution to global energy security.”
