Dress for Success Central Alberta hires new executive director

Aug 24, 2022 | 1:58 PM

Dress for Success Central Alberta has announced a new executive director, a first for the organization which launched locally in 2008.

Kristine Bugayong has over 15 years of community development experience in the region with various non-profits.

“We are very pleased to welcome Kristine as the first executive director of Dress for Success Central Alberta,” says Crystal Cawsey, board chair. “We are confident that her depth of experience, know-how, enthusiasm, and leadership will be integral to elevating and growing our organization so that we can serve more women in our community.”

The organization’s 2022 board is made up of Cawsey, as well as Lee Ann Waines, Debbie Romkes, Kelly Kierluk, Brennen Wowk and Dana Mann.

“I am very excited to be part of this extraordinary organization, one that has touched so many lives throughout the years,” says Bugayong. “I look forward to working with our passionate volunteers to offer so much more to the community, to our region.”

Dress for Success Central Alberta’s mission, it says, is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Bugayong says when life is normal, Dress for Success helps around 200 clients each year.

She says the organization decided it wanted to add an executive director in order to raise its profile and ultimately help more people.

Dress for Success is located at #5, 5571 45 Street, Red Deer.
