Trial date set in fatal pedestrian collision
A trial date has been set for a Red Deer man charged in a fatal motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian last year.
Melvin Will, 84, is scheduled for trial in Red Deer provincial court on Feb. 8, 2023.
On Sept. 14, at 12:00 p.m., Red Deer RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian located at 48 Street and 52 Avenue. Upon police arrival, Red Deer Emergency Services were on scene providing medical assistance to the pedestrian.
Mounties say their preliminary investigation has revealed that a truck was heading southbound on 52 Avenue. However, as the truck turned eastbound onto 48 Street, a pedestrian was struck in the crosswalk.
