Jury trial scheduled for Drayton Valley man charged in Red Deer murder

A jury trial has been scheduled for a Drayton Valley man charged in the death of a Red Deer man last year.
Jordan David Ruff, 29, is scheduled to have a jury trial in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench from Jan. 26-Feb 16, 2024.
On Nov. 14, 2021, at 3:05 p.m., Red Deer RCMP received a request to attend a residence in the area of 58 Avenue and 69 Street in Red Deer to assist Emergency Medical Services with the sudden death of 37-year-old Dennis Anderson Edwards from Red Deer.
As a result of further investigation, Red Deer RCMP believed the death to be suspicious. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit then took over the investigation, with an autopsy completed by the Calgary Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
