Mother, baby, toddler nutrition classes offered this summer

Parents who have questions about what they should eat during pregnancy, and how they should feed their growing babies and toddlers, can now sign up even more easily for Alberta Health Services (AHS) classes available online and from the convenience of home.

All Public Health nutrition classes are free, and now available for registration on Eventbrite.

Growing Your Baby: What to Eat During Pregnancy

Online group class (1 hour 15 min.) July 12 at 12 p.m.

  • Learn about meals and snacks that provide the nutrients you need in pregnancy
  • Choosing a multivitamin supplement
  • Food safety
  • Tips for managing pregnancy discomforts
  • Led by a registered dietitian

Infant Nutrition

Online group classes (1.5 hours) July 13, July 27, Aug. 10, all at 10 a.m.

  • What foods to start with
  • Food allergies
  • Making your own food
  • Baby-led weaning, and more
  • Led by a registered dietitian

Goodbye Mealtime Struggles

Online group classes (2 hours) July 20 at 6 p.m. & Aug. 18 at 1 p.m.

  • Explore the various reasons behind mealtime struggles
  • Leave with strategies to make mealtimes happy times
  • Led by a registered dietitian and occupational therapist

Clients can now sign up for classes through Eventbrite as a way of simplifying the process and increasing access. Clients can go directly to this Eventbrite page, type in the link qrco.de/centralzonenutrition or go to www.eventbrite.ca and search by class name and location.

Registration can also be completed by contacting 403-356-6387 or PublicHealthNutrition.CentralZone@albertahealthservices.ca. Posters and information cards are available throughout the community with a QR code to also improve the registration process.
