Significant drug seizure in Olds and residence east of Didsbury

A significant drug seizure took place in two central Alberta areas in early June.

This May, the RCMP Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (RCMP SADCRU), with the assistance of Olds and Didsbury RCMP, say they entered into a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation in Olds.

On June 1, 2022, after a month-long investigation, RCMP officials say search warrants were granted and executed at a residence in the Town of Olds and at a residence in Mountain View County, east of Didsbury.

The following items were seized by RCMP SADCRU:

  • 148.6 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine
  • 27.2 grams of what is believed to be cocaine
  • 3.3 grams of what is believed to be fentanyl
  • 770 ml of 4-hydroxybutanoic acid (GHB)
  • Various pills believed to include Oxycontin, Hydromorphone, and Ecstasy (MDMA)
  • $1200.00 in Canadian cash

Teresa Klein, 36, of Olds, has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of unstamped tobacco

Officials say Klein was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Provincial court on July 4, 2022, in Didsbury.

Matthew Nation, 40, of Mountain View County, is charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Fail to comply with a release order

Mounties say he was held for a Judicial Interim release hearing and was subsequently remanded. Nation will appear in Provincial court June 20, 2022, in Didsbury.
