Traffic disruptions in Red Deer starting June 7

The city of Red Deer will have a few traffic disruptions throughout the week starting on Tuesday.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised of the following:

49 Avenue and 46 Street intersection

Crews will be working on utility services on the 49 Avenue and 46 Street intersection.

Between 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7 and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, the two left lanes on 49 Avenue will be closed at 46 Street.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9 until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, the two right lanes on 49 Avenue will be closed at 46 Street.

30 Avenue northbound

Crews will be working to complete roadway improvements on 30 Avenue northbound from 19 Street to Lees Street.

Pavement milling will take place approximately Tuesday, June 7, with paving scheduled for Sunday, June 12. All construction will occur during the day. The road will remain open during milling and paving; however, traffic will be limited to one lane. Drivers can expect delays and should consider alternative routes.

49 Avenue

Crews will be working to complete roadway improvements on 49 Avenue, by the Westerner, from 19 Street to Spruce Street.

Pavement milling will take place approximately June 8, with paving scheduled for June 13 and 14. All construction will occur during the day. The road will remain open during milling and paving; however, traffic will be limited to one lane. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to consider alternative routes.

Signs will be in place during the traffic disruptions to notify drivers of detours and closures as they occur. Drivers are reminded to slow down when driving in construction zones and obey all signs. Pedestrians are reminded to cross only at designated crosswalks.
