Innisfail RCMP seize suspected stolen plywood

One man is facing charges while police search for two other suspects after a truck crashed into a marked RCMP vehicle in Innisfail this week.

In the early morning of May 11 2022, Mounties say a white GMC Sierra Truck was involved in a collision with a marked RCMP vehicle on 49A avenue in Innisfail. After the collision, police say the GMC Sierra fled at a high rate of speed for a short distance before the occupants fled on foot.

One passenger, a 47-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested at the scene. A male driver and another female passenger have not been located. The truck has been seized by police.

Mounties say the GMC Sierra had been carrying a large amount of 4×8 sheets of OSB plywood which is believed to have been recently stolen from an unknown construction site.

RCMP have seized the lumber and are currently trying to locate the owners. If you have been the victim of a recent theft of OSB plywood, please contact Innisfail RCMP.
