Temporary closure of Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service
The Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (SLAACS) will be closed May 13, due to an unexpected gap in physician coverage.
AHS officials say, however, the service will resume normal operation on Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 a.m.
Officials say this temporary closure is necessary as the service cannot operate without a physician onsite. Options to secure alternative coverage have also been exhausted, and reducing hours is said to be a last resort.
Patients arriving at SLAACS during this time will be redirected to other care options as deemed appropriate. These options include returning the next day when the service resumes, booking an appointment with their family doctor, or calling Health Link at 811 for medical information and advice.
