Trial set for man charged in alleged Ponoka assault
A trial date has been set for a man accused in an alleged assault in Ponoka last month.
Jesse James Leckner, 31, of no fixed address, is scheduled for trial in Ponoka provincial court on Sept. 16, 2022.
Leckner is charged with assault while choking, assault with a weapon, and three counts of fail to comply with conditions of release.
On March 12, police received a complaint of an assault which occurred in the early morning hours of March 10 on 46 Street in Ponoka. Mounties say the victim advised police she was choked and threatened with a knife.
