Didsbury RCMP lay charges in sexual assault investigation involving a child
A former Alberta teacher is facing sex-related charges in relation to an incident that allegedly occurred in Didsbury seven years ago.
On Dec. 22, 2021, Didsbury RCMP received a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in 2015 when the victim was attending elementary school in Didsbury. Mounties say the accused was working as a teacher at the time of the alleged offences.
As a result of the investigation, Harley Arthur Dickinson, 72, of Mountain View County, Alta., has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and sexual exploitation.
Following a judicial hearing, police say Dickinson was released with several conditions including not to possess weapons, and not to be in any place that involves people under the age of 16.
