Red Deer launches pandemic recovery funding for local arts and sports organizations

The City of Red Deer launched a new grant program Monday to provide post-pandemic relief and recovery support for local arts, culture, heritage, recreation, and sport organizations.

The Pandemic Relief and Recovery Fund was developed by The City as a one-time grant opportunity to help local organizations that have experienced and continue to face operational challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We’re pleased to offer financial assistance for community groups who have struggled to operate over the last two years,” said Barb McKee, Recreation Superintendent. “Our culture and recreation organizations provide valuable, diverse opportunities that provide important quality of life activities for Red Deerians, and we want to assist them in their recovery to help ensure they can continue to support our community.”

Red Deer community groups ordinarily eligible for Community Culture Development Fund (CCDF) and the Community Recreation Enhancement Grant (CREG) can apply for the Pandemic Relief and Recovery Fund (PRRF).
