ENDED: Snowfall Warning issued for Red Deer and central Alberta

A snowfall warning has been issued (effective 3:25 p.m. Sunday) for parts of central Alberta, including Red Deer.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says heavy snow with total amounts between 10 and 20 centimetres is expected.

“Snow developed along the northern foothills early this (Saturday) afternoon and will spread south through the Calgary area into southern Alberta this evening, according to ECCC. “Snowfall amounts could vary considerably within forecast regions. Snow will begin to ease Sunday night. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”
