Innisfail RCMP make arrest for attempted vehicle theft

A young man is facing charges after residents of Innisfail reported suspicious activity in their neighbourhood this week.

On Feb. 16 at 6:35 a.m., Innisfail RCMP were dispatched to a complaint involving a suspicious male walking through an Innisfail neighborhood attempting to get into unlocked vehicles.

Over the next few hours, other citizens in the area began reporting other thefts from vehicles and posting about the same suspicious male on social media.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. police, with the assistance of Innisfail Community Peace Officers, located the suspect who was taken into custody.

The 19-year-old, of no fixed address, has been charged with:
