The Blackfalds Bulldogs will host the 2022 Alberta Junior Hockey League Showcase.

The annual event, which runs at the end of September, features two regular season games for each of the league’s 16 teams, played out of the host’s home arena — in this case, the Eagle Builders Centre.

“The Blackfalds Bulldogs are very excited to host the 2022 AJHL Showcase,” states team co-owners Doug and Jodie Quinn. “We would like to thank the AJHL for this opportunity and we look forward to presenting our fans a great weekend of hockey. This is amazing for not only our organization, but our community, who has provided the Bulldogs with terrific support.”

2022 will mark the 16th time the event’s been held, with thousands of fans expected to be in attendance from across the province, plus 200 members of the scouting community, from the NHL, NCAA, U Sports and the CHL.

This season’s showcase was hosted by the Brooks Bandits.

“On behalf of the Town of Blackfalds and council, I would like to share our appreciation to the AJHL for allowing the Blackfalds Bulldogs to host the showcase this year in our new facility – an opportunity that I hope will become a tradition in the years to come,” says Blackfalds Mayor Jamie Hoover. “Not only do we have one of the best facilities in Canada, but I also believe that the hockey community, and our community in general, will bring an unparalleled level of enthusiasm that will make this showcase a huge success.”

A full schedule for the showcase will be announced this July, alongside the 2022/23 regular season schedule.
