Red Deer home sales higher in December, year-over-year

According to the latest market report, the number of homes sales in Red Deer last month came in higher when compared with the same month last year.

December’s market report published by the Central Alberta Realtors Association, shows there were 123 units sold in Red Deer last month. That compares with 124 units sold in November, and 88 units sold in December 2020.

Year-to-date numbers show 1,924 units sold in the city in 2021, way up from 1,262 units sold in all of 2020.

Meantime, the average sale price in Red Deer last month was $338,937. That compares with an average sale price of $329,315 in November, and $322,437 in December 2020.

The average number of days to sell a home in Red Deer last month was 66 days, which compares with 63 days in November and 73 days in December 2020.

For the entire central Alberta market, 355 units were sold in December. That compares with 384 units sold in November and 312 units sold in December 2020.

The average sale price in the entire central Alberta market last month was $326,404. That compares with $354,339 in November and $318,584 in December 2020.

Meantime, the average number of days to sell a home throughout central Alberta last month was 96. That compares with 103 days in November, and 93 days in December 2020.
