On Dec. 11, 2021, Innisfail RCMP held a successful 25th Annual Charity Check-stop between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in Innisfail.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, we had our best year ever with a total of $17,181.05 in cash and cheques raised. Additionally, about 2 truck loads of high quality toys and new clothing items were collected for the Innisfail Christmas Bureau and 649 pounds of food were donated for the Innisfail food Bank by the citizens of Innisfail and the surrounding area.

In this season of giving and celebrating we are proud to provide as much help as we can to those less fortunate. The charitable organizations that these items will be donated to are: the Innisfail Food Bank, the Innisfail Christmas Bureau, the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and the Youth Positive Assets Coalition.

Innisfail RCMP would like to thank the following local businesses for providing donations: Nestle Purina, Central Alberta CO-OP, 7-11, Boston Pizza, Dairy Queen, Subway, Tim Horton’s, Innisfail Bowling Lanes, Coffee Cottage, Sandstone IDA, NAPA, Field & Forge, Complete Catering, and the Innisfail Legion.

Innisfail RCMP would also like to acknowledge the numerous volunteers who made this event possible. These volunteers include representatives from: the Innisfail Fire Department, the Town of Innisfail, The Town of Innisfail By-Law, the Christmas Bureau, the Food Bank, the Youth Positive Asset Coalition, The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre. We would also like to thank Jim Romaine for being our Santa Claus and Courtney Malone for being Safety Bear as well as providing the Christmas Music.

Innisfail RCMP wishes everyone a safe and joyous holiday season!
