Dates of Exhibition: December 1 – 23, 2021
Opening Reception: December 3 from 5:30 – 8:30 pm
DESCRIPTION – Margriet Hogue’s new series is called Raveling, and all contain scraps of fabric. Her mixed-media paintings are inspired by the natural world; the contours of the land and the colours of the season. Her process starts with numerous layers of paint and paper which are distressed through sanding, scraping or gouging. Responding intuitively to the marks and colours revealed is repeated until she adds scraps of fabric at the end.
