Rebels’ Chase Coward named WHL Goalie of the Week

Chase Coward has been named WHL Goalie of the Week.

Coward, 18, earned his first career shutout on Nov. 19, a 2-0 Rebels win over Calgary. That was his sole game of the week ending Nov. 21.

The Swift Current native is now 8-5-0-0 to start the season, and holds a 2.16 GAA, with a .924 SV% in 13 appearances.

He’s also won four straight, surrendering two or fewer goals in 10 of 13 outings.

Those four most recent victories have come during a five-game win streak for the Rebels in which he’s stopped 103 of the 109 shots he’s faced — a .945 SV%.
