Limited number of Janssen COVID vaccines available in Red Deer

Nov 24, 2021 | 11:28 AM

The Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine is now available for Albertans 18-years of age or older.

Only one dose is needed to be fully immunized.

In Red Deer, as in other places, the supply is limited.

Appointments to receive this vaccine are being booked for the following times and locations:

Thursday, Nov. 25 at Red Deer Westerner Park (Frontier Room), 4847A 19 St. from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 2 at Consort Community Health Centre, 5410 52 Ave. from 9 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.

Eligible Albertans can book their appointment by calling Health Link at 811. It is only for people who have not yet had any other doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

AHS clarifies that it will also not be supplied as a booster dose, which for the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) is recommended six months after receiving your second dose.
