New dates for a preliminary hearing have been set for next year for a man charged with second-degree murder in the death of a woman in Ponoka last year.

Ryan Jake Applegarth, 29, will find out if his case has enough evidence to go to trial following that hearing, which is scheduled for Mar. 16-17, 2022. It was previously scheduled for this month.

It was on Nov. 5, 2020 when RCMP, along with EMS, responded to a 911 call for an injured female at a residential complex in Ponoka.

Chantelle Firingstoney, 26, a resident of Ponoka, was found deceased.
