Artist A.J. McCoy’s work showcased at Lacombe Memorial Centre
The City of Lacombe is proud to showcase the work of artist A.J. McCoy at the Lacombe Memorial Centre (LMC).
This is a return to Canada for McCoy, after being seen throughout the United States at several invitation-only art showcases.
At Age 3, McCoy began entertaining herself by drawing various subjects, especially animals. In 1970, she and her husband moved to the Black Feet Indian Reservation in Montana. Soon after, she gave up nursing to pursue painting exclusively. A.J. spent time living near Glacier and Yellowstone Park before moving to Canada in 1994. A.J McCoy now resides in central Alberta.
Living in the country has laid before her countless subjects in their natural habitats. She has used various mediums such as hard pastels, oils, gauche, graphite and acrylics to depict these beloved and treasured animals.
