$1.5 million nationwide

Lowe’s and Rona ‘Heroes Campaign’ benefits local charities

The Lowe’s Canada Heroes Campaign will assist local charities in their efforts.

Across Canada, Lowe’s is donating to more than 235 organizations.

More than $1.5 million is being distributed amongst the recipients, which were chosen by associates in local stores. Money was raised during September, and Lowe’s Canada matched donations by 50 per cent, up to $2,000 per location.

In Red Deer, Lowe’s on the south end is giving $6,447 to Diabetes Canada, and the north-end RONA (owned by Lowe’s) is giving $5,406 to the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.

Lowe’s Calgary Crossiron also chose to give its money raised — $5,334 — to Saving Grace Animal Society in Alix.

“We’ve once again reached a new campaign milestone in terms of the number of participating locations this year, as a record number of distribution centres and affiliated RONA dealers joined forces with our corporate stores network,” said Jean-Sébastien Lamoureux, Lowe’s Canada Senior Vice-President, Public Affairs, Asset Protection and Sustainable Development.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our 2021 results and how our teams came together under challenging conditions to support worthy causes across the country. Thank you to our dedicated associates and generous customers for making it happen!”
