Trial date set for man charged in Red Deer officer-involved shooting
A man charged in an officer-involved shooting during a break-in in Red Deer’s Morrisroe neighbourhood last month is going to trial.
Scott Bruno, 29, will go to trial on Mar. 30, 2022.
He’s charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, entering a dwelling without lawful excuse and committing an indictable offence, and failing to comply with a probation order in the Sept. 21 incident.
That’s when Red Deer RCMP received a 911 call reporting a break and enter in progress at a residence in the Maxwell Avenue area by a 29-year-old man known to the homeowner. At approximately 6:10 p.m., Red Deer RCMP officers arrived on the scene and entered the residence.
