Patrick William Freeman, a Sylvan Lake man accused of killing his father, will appear in a Wetaskiwin courtroom on Monday.
Freeman is scheduled to stand trial, with the current charge against him being first-degree murder.
It was June 24, 2019, at or near Rimbey, when the then 28-year-old son is alleged to have killed his 52-year-old father, Patrick Alexander Freeman.
Police said at the time that upon arrival, the victim had noticeably significant injuries and was airlifted to hospital in Calgary, but later died.
