Oct 23, 2021 | 9:41 PM

For the fifth time in 10 games this season, the Red Deer Rebels scored at least four goals on Saturday.

The Rebels also won for the sixth time this season, obliterating the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings by a final score of 7-1. They’ve now won two straight, outscoring their opponents 13-4.

In what was the second of four straight in the friendly confines of the Peavey Mart Centrium, Red Deer’s Ben King (5th) got the scoring started at the 8:51 mark — assists to Arshdeep Bains and Blake Stevenson.

That goal came on the power play and was the lone marker in the opening period.

In the second, the Rebels poured it on big time, first with Kalan Lind (3rd) scoring 1:13 in. Hunter Mayo got the helper.

Liam Keeler (4th) would score on the power play at 4:04, with apples to captain Jayden Grubbe and Kyle Masters.

Grubbe (4th) got a tally of his own at 14:35, again with the man advantage — Jhett Larson and Keeler assisting.

Blake Stevenson (3rd) would score with 60 seconds left in the period — an assist going to Kai Uchacz.

After 40 minutes of play, Red Deer led 5-0.

The final frame was but a formality, though there was more scoring — first Ethan Rowland (3rd) would make it 6-1 Rebels at 12:42.

Then with 6:10 left on the clock, and Chase Coward looking good for a shutout, the Wheaties finally got on the board, with Nolan Ritchie (5th) breaking the goose egg.

Stevenson (4th) then iced it with his second of the night at 15:43, and an assist from Uchacz, and the Rebels won resoundingly.

Between the pipes, Coward (3-3-0-0) stopped 21 of 22 shots. Nicholas Jones (0-1-0-0) made 35 saves on 42 shots faced at the opposite end.

Red Deer went 3/7 with the man advantage, and Brandon was 0/6.
