Following 17 years of service, Rick More is retiring from his role as CEO of the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce.

More has been in his latest role for three years, and will finish up his duties as of Nov. 15, 2021.

“During his tenure as CEO, Rick provided a calmness and optimism that was needed not just in the business community, but in our everyday lives. When Rick was hired as CEO, our expectation of him was to provide consistency,” says Dustin Snider, board chairman.

“He executed exactly what we needed. He has left this chamber of commerce better than when he found it, with momentum that this community will continue to see benefits from long after his departure. Rick More has exemplified heart for this community.”

More added that, “It has been my honour to work with our amazing business members and witness their undaunting commitment, resilience and dedication to this community. This was a hard decision, but I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life.”

More is also well-known in the community for his work with the non-profit Smiles Thru Lindsey, which focuses on mental health and is so named after his daughter who lost her life to suicide in 2015.
