AgSmart returns to Olds College Aug. 10 & 11

Aug 7, 2021 | 11:37 AM

A premier event for Olds College which was cancelled in 2020 is set to go ahead this week.

From 9-5 on Aug.10 & 11, Olds College will play host to AgSmart.

The event features an extensive list of speakers, 50 educational sessions, live demos with drones and autonomous equipment, and over 100 exhibits.

AgSmart will also showcase the Olds College Smart Farm and Technology Access Centre for Livestock Production.

Stacy Felkar, AgSmart co-manager, says the event is meant to be interactive and educational, and an opportunity to show farmers how data and technology is evolving.

“In the agriculture industry, technology is moving at the speed of light, and there are constantly new players and so many exciting innovations being introduced into the marketplace,” Felkar says. “The bulk of our exhibitors are Canadian or North American companies, and the majority are from Alberta and western Canada.”

Felkar notes that with harvest having started early this season, organizers are offering farmers half-day tickets to the event so they can get back home to take care of business.

Tickets and more information about AgSmart are available at agsmartolds.ca.

BIG105 and 106.7 REWIND Radio, which are owned by rdnewsNOW’s parent company, Pattison Media, are sponsors of AgSmart.
